Founded with the mission to leverage the therapeutic and educational power of astronomy, Reach for the Stars has achieved remarkable success from its humble home-based beginnings. By engaging young people in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) through the lens of astronomy, the organization has been instrumental in helping manage stress, anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts in participants in Pima County.

Reach for the Stars stands at the crossroads of education and mental health support, using the allure of astronomy and the benefits of art and STEM education to foster psychological well-being in youth and the community. It seeks to take this groundbreaking work to the next level with a state-of-the-art facility featuring classrooms, offices, public observatory, and even an immersive planetarium. We believe this facility will be a vital forward step for Tucson and how it will reshape the after school experience for young people and their families who want their children to launch on a path towards success.

The mental health crisis is more important now than ever. We must create a safe, positive, unique and fun educational space for them to shine. Stargate is the way forward and we want Pima County to set the example for the rest of the world to follow.

In addition to the programs, Stargate will host public astronomy events and give access to advanced equipment for all to enjoy. Stargate will be a hub of STEM, art and astronomical fun, leading to careers, innovation, leaders, life skills and so much more. Finally, Stargate will house attractions for tourists to enjoy, capturing the essence of this amazing city and allowing hundreds of thousands to feel the awe effect all year round.
